Zabaan offers multiple Russian courses to meet a variety of needs. In addition to group classes, we offer private lessons and online instruction. Russian for Beginners

In this course, students will master the cyrillic alphabet and begin to explore Russia’s highly inflected grammar.  In addition to reading and writing, this class aims to provide students with a strong foundation in speaking and comprehension at the novice level.  By the end of this course, students will have a basic understanding of several of Russian’s cases and verb tenses.  This course is available as a group class, in private lessons, or online.

Lower Elementary Russian

Building on our Russian for Beginners class, this course delves deeper into Russian’s highly inflected grammar.  The focus on this class will be on achieving conversational proficiency in speaking and comprehension as well as a reading and writing skills at a lower elementary level. By the end of this course, students will have a basic understanding of all six cases, verbs of motion, and perfective and imperfective aspects of verb tenses.  This course is available as a group class, in private lessons, or online.

Upper Elementary Russian

The last in our series of Elementary Russian courses, this course completes the overview of Russian’s highly inflected grammar.  The focus on this class will be on achieving conversational proficiency in speaking and comprehension as well as a reading and writing skills at an elementary level. By the end of this course, students will gain confidence in using six cases, verbs of motion, and perfective and imperfective aspects of verb tenses.  This course is available as a group class, in private lessons, or online.

Terms and Conditions

1. GROUP CLASSES: RATES AND CANCELLATION
Please note that Group Class Fees are payable monthly in advance and are non-refundable should you miss a class. The rate for Group Classes varies according to the number of people in the group and so may be subject to change. The rate for the coming month will be determined by the number of people signing up for that month. The minimum rate is for classes of three or more people.
2. CANCELLATION OF PRIVATE OR ONLINE CLASSES
Since it is very often not possible to fill class spaces at short notice, we have to charge for private or online classes cancelled less than 48 hours beforehand. If we receive between 48 and 24 hours notice, then half the class fee is payable. At less than 24 hours notice the full class fee is payable.
3. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Fees for Private Instruction may be paid in advance, or on a class-by-class basis, by cash, debit/credit card, or check (made payable to: S. A. Zabaan Pvt Ltd).
4. ONLINE INSTRUCTION
Fees for Online Instruction are payable in advance of each class, or you can choose to pay for several in advance. We accept payment by TransferWise, which should be sent to zabaan@gmail.com.
5. SERVICE TAX
The rates for Group Classes and Private Instruction at our centre in New Delhi and anywhere in India are inclusive of service tax.
6. STUDENTS BEING REIMBURSED OR FUNDED
If you are being funded or reimbursed for your classes, please let us know, as the fees are different in that case.
7. REFRESHMENTS
Clean drinking water and chai/coffee are available free of charge at the Zabaan Centre - just ask a member of staff. Lunch is also available for a small fee. Please let a Zabaan staff member know that you’d like to eat lunch by 10 a.m. of the same day.
8. READING ROOM
The reading room is available for use by Zabaan students during the day (when it is not being used for classes) for study purposes.
9. FILM LIBRARY
We have a collection of Hindi and Urdu films available for students to check out. When students check out a film for the first time we take a fully refundable Rs. 500 deposit. Please let a staff member know when you’d like to take a film and write down your name and the title of the film on the sign-out sheet.
10. INTERNET
Please contact the reception desk if you would like to access our Wi-Fi network. Please note that this service is free of cost for browsing and checking emails/messages only. Please do not use this connection for downloads greater than 2 MB.
