Our Basic Modern Arabic course is ideal for students aiming to build a strong foundation in the literary standard found across the Middle East and North Africa. One of the official languages of the United Nations, Modern Arabic will also be found in most printed materials in the Arab League.

I’ve spent a total of four months or so studying at Zabaan on two separate occasions and have been really pleased with the school and the staff. For the most part I was studying Pashto (not taught by in-house staff), and on both trips Ali has tracked down knowledgeable instructors to come work with me at Zabaan, which is no easy feat. The classrooms are clean and modern, the staff is very accomodating, and there are numerous resources–books, videos, flashcards–to take advantage of. Ali has even given me the Pashto textbooks and dictionaries he’s come across. All around great experience and highly recommended.

I studied Urdu and Hindi for the better part of a year at Zabaan and couldn’t have been more impressed. Zabaan does not simply find someone who speaks the language being taught; they put serious thought into pedagogy and textbook selection. Instructors are careful to adhere to the lesson plan and keep chit chat to a minimum. Like any language study, you will get out of it what you put into it, but this institution will certainly maximize your progress and is an excellent value.
